The village of Hak (and most widely the Lachine Valley) is part of the so-called "liberated territories" that were not included in the Karabagh oblast during the Soviet period. The region was won during the fighting after the independance. All the Azeris were driven out and now Armenians are repopulating it. Life conditions are very harsh in Lachine Valley.

Askeran region, on the front line. This young soldier who is doing his military service comes regularly on the front line. The front line is composed of trenches, monitoring stations and small living spaces (kitchen, room) for the soldiers. The two frontlines (azeris and karabaghtsis) are face to face, separated by a few tens of meter, each years soldiers died by snipers firing.

Shushi. Five brothers, the terrors of the school. The five others are enrolled in a military high school in Yerevan. The government try to encourage large families (by giving them a lot of money) to repopulate the country.

Hak, Lachine Valley. Just after a wedding, the grandmother of the bride, her grand-daughter just left her parents' house to the house of her husband.
